The Meadville Family YMCA has opened a second location for its Free Dinner Program at Saint Philip Parish in Linesville.  This second location compliments their original location at Bethany United Methodist in Meadville’s Fifth Ward. Free dinners for families are available for pickup at both sites on Mondays and Thursdays and multiple meals are available to provide some families with nutritious meals to last through the week. The Bethany United Methodist location is open from 4PM to 5PM on Monday and Thursday and can deliver if called ahead at (814)853-6560. The Saint Philip Parish location is open on Monday and Thursday from 4:30PM to 5:30PM. For questions about or to offer donations to the Free Dinner Program call (814)336-2196. Due to Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve there will be no service at either location on Thursday the 24th and 31st.

 

In state news Butler County is once again challenging Pennsylvania’s COVID-19 mitigation efforts. This time the Butler Area School Board is challenging the authority of the governor and secretary of health to impose a moratorium on extracurricular activities and suspend winter sports.
