Authorities in Venango County are reporting a fatal crash along Deckard’s Run Road in Canal Township. Troy Perry of Cochranton was slain and his passenger Steven Gum severely injured at around 4:30PM when the utility terrain vehicle they operated lost control and began to roll. Troy was declared dead at the scene while Steven was medevaced to UPMC Hamot in Erie. State troopers are still investigating the crash.

 

Juniper Village at Meadville is planning to spread some drive through holiday cheer tomorrow evening. Visitors can just drive right up to the front parking lot on 455 Chestnut Street between 5 and 7 PM and some Juniper Elves will deliver some hot cocoa and donuts. Please wear a face mask and remain in your vehicle if you visit; the Juniper Elves will wear their masks.

 

As of Tuesday more than half a million cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed across the state of Pennsylvania leading to the deaths of 13,000 residents. The City of Meadville made national headlines for the wrong reasons when the New York Times listed it as #3 on its list of cities with the greatest number of new cases relative to its population; claiming an average of 156 new cases a day over the last two weeks.
