Venango County Authorities have issued a warrant for the arrest of 36 year old Megan Slater of Oil City on charges of drug possession, resisting arrest, and escaping custody. Slater escaped from the back of a state police cruiser while a trooper was occupied with searching for her partner after her arrest for methamphetamine. The City of Meadville is looking for volunteers to serve three or five year terms on some of the city’s boards. Meadville has vacancies for five year terms on the Market and Water Authority and two three year terms on the Zoning Hearing Board. Pennsylvania has a new acting Secretary of Labor and Industry. Jennifer Berrier was picked by Governor Tom Wolf to succeed Jerry Oleksiak as head of the labor department and has worked for Labor and Industry for 15 years. Secretary Oleksiak retired Friday.
