The Crawford County Commissioners announced that two staff members at the Crawford County Care Center tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday. Two wings of the county run nursing home have been placed under precautionary measures, but so far none of the facility’s residents have come back with a positive test result. 

 

Penncrest School District announced on Thursday that Saegertown Elementary School will be closed through the month of November after 18 staff members and 53 students had to go under quarantine because of virus exposure. Crawford County has confirmed more than 40 new cases of COVID-19 every day since November 11th and according to data from the Department of Health there are currently 25 people hospitalized with the disease and at least six people have died this month. Statewide more than 302,000 confirmed cases have led to nearly 10,000 deaths.

 

On Friday the State Legislature passed a budget to get Pennsylvania through the remainder of the 2020-2021 fiscal year. The new budget includes no tax increases and will make up a funding shortfall by using nearly $3.5 billion in Federal Stimulus money.
