State Police in Venango County are investigating a burglary which took place at an unknown date and time between November 1st and November 11th. Two motorhomes and some vehicles were burglarized by a suspect using a tool to pry their doors open. Items taken from the scene include a car battery, a 6’ foot wooden ladder, a 60”x40” tarp in its original package, and a carburetor. Severe winds which blew yesterday afternoon and evening knocked down trees and power lines around the region, blocking roads and knocking out power to tens of thousands of residents. Even though it’s a lame duck session in Harrisburg lawmakers are tasked with the passage of a budget for the remainder of fiscal year 2020-21. A stopgap budget that was only valid for five months was passed in June and expires in December.
