An unnamed 22 year old Erie Man has been arrested and charged with multiple assault related crimes after authorities say he punched and choked the mother of his child while she held their two month old baby.  A disagreement allegedly turned physical when the man began to strike the woman in the face with closed fists and then choked her as she tried to keep him away from harming their baby.

 

Erie, Crawford, and Venango Counties have all posted single day records for new COVID diagnoses this week. According to the statistics from the PA Department of Health Erie County recorded 42 new cases on the 26th, the same day that the state saw record numbers; Crawford and Venango Counties each diagnosed 38 and 40 respectively on the 27th.

 

Pennsylvania State Police based in Franklin are investigating reports of an alleged sexual assault at a nursing home in Sugarcreek. A female patient told nursing home staff that she had been sexually assaulted by another resident of the facility, though an investigation is ongoing troopers will not report on the graphic nature of the complaints.

There are some important dates to remember over the next few days. Tomorrow night, October 31st is Halloween, it’s also the second full moon of the month, an occasion known as a blue moon.  Daylight savings ends that same night and clocks are turned back one hour at 2AM on November 1st, and November 3rd is the 2020 Presidential election.
