Both drivers were hospitalized after two semi trucks collided on Interstate 80 in Venango County. According to state police troopers based in Franklin the accident happened when an eastbound tractor trailer hauling cargo sideswiped a drilling rig with an oversized load that was parked on the shoulder of the highway. The tractor trailer began to fishtail; striking the cabin of the drilling rig with it’s trailing unit before rolling over.


The Pennsylvania State Senate took some time to recognize its President Pro Tempore, Joe Scarnetti, for his public service before he retires at the end of the year. Scarnetti has represented the 25th State Senate district for 19 years and has been President Pro Temp for 14, he also did a short stint as Lt. Governor.


In order to provide financial relief to bars, clubs, hotels, and restaurants Governor Tom Wolf has proposed that the Pennsylvania Liquor Control board wave all liquor license renewal fees due for next year. The governor added this suggestion to his calls for the legislature to use some of the State’s CARES Act funds to provide financial aid packages geared toward the hospitality industry.
