State Representative Lee James will be holding veteran’s affairs outreach hours at his office in Seneca on Tuesday, October 20th from 10AM until 2PM. An accredited field service officer from the American Legion will be on hand to help veterans apply for their deserved benefits through the Veterans Administration. The service is absolutely free but is by appointment only; space is limited and you should call (814)677-6413 to schedule an appointment.


The Pennsylvania Senate Majority Policy Committee held a hearing about strengthening the commonwealth’s hate crime laws. Senators on the committee listened to advocate and expert testimony about expanding the laws beyond race to include protections for gender and gender identity, sexuality, and the intellectually disabled.


The Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency is expanding the COVID Relief Mortgage and Rental Assistance Grant Program to better serve both renters and homeowners as well as their landlords and debt holders. Some of these improvements include extending the deadline to November 4th and increasing the monthly payment cap beyond $750.
