The PennDOT work schedule for the week of September 28th to October 1st includes the closure of Barney Road in Conneaut Township, Erie County for a pipe replacement project. The entire schedule for our region including Crawford, Mercer, Venango, Erie, Warren, and Forest Counties can be found online at PennDOT.gov/District1; Clarion County is in District 10.

Local State Representative Brad Roae is Chair of the PA House Consumer Affairs Committee. After a recent hearing on community solar power Roae commented favorably on the concept and added that community solar projects could greatly benefit the state’s economy and that leasing unproductive land for solar projects could be a revenue stream for farmers. The commonwealth has about 220 shovel ready community solar projects ready to go as soon as legislation allows.

Also in Harrisburg, Governor Tom Wolf continues to call for new government accountability legislation. Governor Wolf has tried before to convince the legislature to create a ban on gifts for all public officials, campaign finance reforms, and laws requiring elected officials to disclose all of their income sources.
