The Crawford County Commissioners Office announced yesterday that it confirmed 14 cases of COVID-19 at the Crawford County Care Center in Saegertown. All 14 staff members were asymptomatic when their positive results were confirmed, but are now self quarantining at home. Contact tracing for all of the infected staff members has begun and the Care Center is investigating whether any residents of the nursing home may have been infected. These cases were detected while the Care Center was following Pennsylvania’s Department of Health guidelines for mandatory staff testing. Crawford County has confirmed 225 cases of COVID since the pandemic began and there are currently 32 probable cases awaiting confirmation. Statewide the disease has infected more than 146,000 people causing 7,875 deaths; 82% of patients are considered recovered, though many patients have lingering health issues.
