Butler Health System, which includes Clarion Hospital, has announced the purchase of the Barnse Center from the Clarion University Foundation. With the announcement of the purchase also comes plans to turn the building into a new ambulatory care center which includes a Lifestyle Medicine Institute, Cardiology Center, Women’s Health Center, and outpatient diagnostic services.


Pennsylvania’s House Majority Leader Kerry Benninghoff and 62 other Republican Lawmakers are demanding Governor Wolf change guidelines to allow spectators at PIAA sporting events. Current PIAA rules for 2020 prohibit anyone other than student athletes, coaches, officials, and staff from attending sporting events and cites the Department of Health’s restrictions on crowd sizes and building capacities as the main reason for their decision.


Pennsylvania’s Secretary of State Kathy Brookvar has announced that all mail-in ballots in the state of Pennsylvania will include postage paid envelopes this year in an effort to make voting accessible and safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. A 2019 law allows any registered voter in Pennsylvania to request a no excuse mail-in ballot and 1.5 million voters chose to utilize that option during the primaries.
