With COVID-19 cases surging across the nation and the state of Pennsylvania, Edinboro University is walking back some of its reopening plans. Most of the fall semester’s classes will be taking place online with a few exceptions for some arts, laboratories, and the nursing program. Only 175 students will be living on campus during the fall semester.


Former Pennsylvania State Senator Michael Folmer was sentenced for the possession of child pornography on Tuesday. Folmer was handed a jail sentence by Lebanon County Court for one day less than one year to two days less than 2 years, and must spend 15 years as a registered sex offender after his release. A warranted search discovered dozens of images of child pornography on the Senator’s phone last September, after law enforcement received an alert from the social media website Tumbler.

 

With no guarantee that extra unemployment compensation from the Federal Government will continue beyond July, Pennsylvania’s Department of Labor and Industry is informing jobless Pennsylvanians about other assistance options. Benefits supplemental to unemployment such as SNAP can be explored at the state’s website, PA.gov.
