Five residents and 17 staff members at Rolling Fields Eldercare Community in Conneautville tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday. The diagnoses came as a part of the mandatory blanket testing ordered by the Pennsylvania Department of Health for all nursing homes and as of Monday none of the 22 individuals who tested positive were symptomatic. According to Heritage Senior Living Communities, which is the company that owns and operates Rolling Fields, the infected residents are being isolated while the staff members are quarantining at home. As a precaution Rolling Fields has closed its daycare center until further notice. The SARS CoV-2 virus which causes COVID-19 is confirmed to have infected 95,742 Pennsylvanians; 6,911 patients have died, and a little under 74,000 patients are considered to have recovered, but many suffer long term complications caused by the infection.
