Preliminary results for the primary elections held yesterday have been released. In the statewide elections Democrats selected Joe Biden as their candidate for President and in this year’s state elections, Michael Lamb got the nod for Auditor General, Attorney General went to the incumbent Josh Shapiro, and the incumbent Joseph Torsella was picked for Treasurer. Republicans picked President Donald Trump to remain on the Republican ticket as president, Heather Heidelbaugh for Attorney General, Timothy Defoor to run for Auditor General, and Stacy Garrity for Treasurer. Some Counties, including Erie, had their deadline for counting mail-in ballots extended until next Tuesday. Governor Wolf penned a last minute executive order yesterday extending deadlines in Allegheny, Dauphin, Delaware, Erie, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties until June 9th as mail service was disrupted by clashes between agitators and police. Only ballots postmarked by June 2nd may be counted.
