Pennsylvania’s department of health added nearly 3,000 confirmed new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend which brings the commonwealth’s total to 22,833 known cases. Over 21,000 cases of the disease are still active, but for the first time the number of people recovering from the disease has surpassed the death toll; about 650 people have recovered from the disease as of Sunday, with 507 deaths.  An increase in the recovery rate is an important step in flattening the COVID-19 infection curve.
