The office of Crawford County’s Clerk of Courts, Patricia Wetherbee, will resume issuing marriage licenses and taking applications at its location in the Judicial Center every Wednesday and Friday from 12:30PM to 3:30PM starting April 8th. It is recommended that couples wishing to be married fill out the application available at crawfordcountypa.net ahead of time, and both applicants must appear at the same time and have photo identification or a birth certificate and proof of residency. Governor Tom Wolf has extended all License to Carry Permits that expire since March 19 or later until the end of May and Sheriff Dave Powers can issue new and renewal permits at his office starting next week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30PM to 3:30PM.
SARS CoV 2 continues its spread around the state and the local region, Forest County recently confirmed it’s first case of COVID-19 caused by the virus and the number of confirmed cases across the state has surpassed 7,000; there have been 90 deaths and 38 patients have recovered. Locally there are 16 cases in Erie County, nine in Mercer County, five in Crawford County, four in Clarion County, three in Venango County, and one each Warren and Forest Counties. Of our neighbors, Butler County is the hardest hit with 69 confirmed cases and 2 deaths.
