Governor of Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf, has extended the Stay at Home Order which covered 33 counties yesterday to cover the entire commonwealth until at least April the 30th. The expansion of the order comes after the worst day for the spread of coronavirus since the pandemic began and more than 1,000 new cases were confirmed. The Pennsylvania Department of Health is now tracking 5,890 cases of COVID-19, more than ⅔ of those cases have appeared over the last 8 days. 74 Pennsylvanian’s have died, and 38 have recovered since March 6th.
Yesterday PennDOT work crews began heading back out to work on 61 projects that are considered critical or emergencies that need completed as soon as possible. Locally that list of projects includes emergency repairs to Interstate 376 Bridge on Interstate 80 East in Mercer County. The Left lane and right shoulder of I-80 East are currently closed to traffic between mile markers three and four and speed is heavily restricted in the right lane.
