Crawford County Clerk of Court’s Office to Begin Taking Marriage License Applications

The Crawford County Clerk of Court’s office located at the Judicial Center, 359 E. Center Street, Meadville, Pennsylvania will begin taking Marriage License Applications beginning Wednesday, April 8, 2020.

Applications will be taken on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12:30 pm to 3:30 pm.  It is recommended to simplify the process that the applicants go to the Crawford County Government website and complete the online marriage application first.

Both applicants must appear in person to apply, only the applicants will be allowed to enter the area where applications are being processed.

Applicants must have photo identification, if an applicant does not have valid photo identification, they must bring a certified birth certificate and proof of residency.  (cannot be hand written)

If either party was previously married and the marriage was dissolved by divorce, the applicant must bring with them a CERTIFIED divorce decree.  If the previous marriage was dissolved by death, the applicant must bring with them an official death certificate.

The filing fee for an application is $57.50 in cash only.

There is a three day waiting period before the Marriage License may be issued.  All licenses at this time will be mailed at the end of the waiting period, applicants will not be permitted to pick up the license at the office.

A marriage license is only valid for 60 days from the day it is issued and only valid in the State of Pennsylvania.
