Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf has now ordered all non-essential businesses closed as part of the powers granted to him under the emergency declaration made earlier this month. Business owners that are found in violation of this order as of midnight tonight could face sanctions that include fines and even a suspension of their licenses. The Department of Community and Economic Development is offering economic disaster loans for small businesses and nonprofits who may be hurt by this order, and employees at all businesses that are closing can apply for unemployment benefits and the waiting period to receive the first payment has been waived. The City of Meadville Declared its own Disaster Emergency which lasts for 30 days; the Meadville City Council and Mayor Leroy Stearns drafted and passed the order yesterday. Confirmed COVID-19 cases in the state increased by 52 yesterday to 185, there is no way to estimate how many cases have no diagnoses.
