In response to lake effect storms PennDOT has announced that speeds will temporarily be decreased on Interstate 86 and Interstate 90. The temporary speed limit on these roadways is 45 miles per hour and all commercial traffic is to be restricted to the right lane of travel. Census forms should be arriving soon and Pennsylvania’s Department of Agriculture, the Center for Sustainable Agriculture and the Center for Rural PA are all joining together to make sure that rural Pennsylvanians from every part of the state are counted in the 2020 United States Census. An accurate population count affects representation in Congress, as well as funding for such programs as Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program, all which benefit rural communities more than urban ones. Census forms must be returned by April first.
