Prayer Vigil for Shooting Victim

In Edinboro a community vigil is scheduled to be held tonight to honor Alexander Cavanah who was the victim killed during a robbery on Saturday. The vigil is scheduled for 6 to 7PM in the parking lot of the Wendy’s he was an employee at. The address is 102 Washington Towne Boulevard in Edinboro Pennsylvania. The restaurant is currently closed but has plans to reopen on Wednesday; the franchisee plans to donate 100% of the day’s profits to benefit Alexander’s family with a matching donation to be made by Wendy’s corporate office.

 

Grant Money for Firefighters and EMTs

More than a million dollars in grants have been issued to fire and ambulance companies in our coverage area. Most of the money went to volunteer organizations but around a tenth of the grant money was awarded to municipal fire companies as well.

 

FDA Recalls Beef

There is a recall on about a ton of ground beef sold in some parts of Pennsylvania that according to the FDA may be tainted with plastic. The packages being recalled are one pound vacuum-packed containers that have the lot code 0060 and a use or freeze by date of January 31st  The meat should be returned to the grocer which it was purchased from or disposed of.
