Crash Lands Woman in Hospital and Jail

A Saegertown woman was hospitalized and then arrested after being cut out of her vehicle by Saegertown Volunteer Fire Department. Authorities say the car driven by 45 year old Erin Mahoney was hit by another motorist when she failed to heed a stop sign at the Intersection of Highway 198 and Grange Center road in Hayfield Township, Crawford County. She was later arrested for suspicion of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

 

Bed Bugs Get Major Police Scrutiny

The State Police based in Girard are taking the matter of someone’s attempt to cause a bed bug infestation of a store in Edinboro very seriously. A Public Information Release issued by the department yesterday reveals that investigators are taking steps such as fingerprinting one of the containers the bugs were found in and also reviewing the store’s security footage.

 

DEP Fines ETC Northeast Pipeline Millions

Pennsylvania’s Department of Environmental Protection has levied a massive $30.5 million fine against the operators of the ETC Northeast Pipeline in relation to the 2018 explosion in Beaver County. A landslide damaged sections of the pipe in September 2018 and caused an explosion and fire that damaged hundreds of acres of land but fortunately caused no casualties. DEP Secretary Patrick McConnel says Energy Transfer was guilty of many safety violations leading up to the blast and levied one of Pennsylvania’s largest individual DEP penalties.
