Armed Standoff Ends without Injury

A standoff between a gunman and authorities in Crawford County last Thursday ended peacefully when the gunman surrendered himself. 38 year old Jonathan Will of Cochranton barricaded himself in a building along Highway 285 in Fairfield Township where he threatened to commit suicide while besieged by troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police and occasionally fired a handgun toward them. Will eventually gave himself up and was taken into custody. According to the Pennsylvania State Police in Meadville, Will is to be charged with aggravated assault after receiving mental health treatment.

 

Sandusky Re-sentenced to 60 Years

During a court hearing on Friday former PSU assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was re-sentenced for the same amount of time for his 2012 convictions of child sexual assault. After a court ruling that Sandusky had been improperly sentenced using guidelines that were not approved until after his conviction, a judge re-sentenced the 75 year old to a term of 30 to 60 years in State Prison; the same as his original sentence.
