Winter Storms Continue Today

A winter storm warning runs until tomorrow for Crawford and Erie Counties and a Winter Weather Advisory lasting until 7PM tonight is in effect for Mercer, Venango, and Forest Counties as well. Last night between 2 and 5 inches of snow fell around our coverage area but, have so far not made a major impact on commutes or utilities. No major traffic accidents or power outages have been attributed to weather as of 6 o’clock this morning. The National Weather Service is calling for another 2 to 4 inches of snow today and PennDOT is working to keep all major roads passable. PA Game Commission Expects Record Black Bear Harvest

The Pennsylvania Game Commission says that numbers indicate that this could be a record breaking year for black bear hunters in Pennsylvania. The record currently stands at about 4,350 animals taken in one season and as of yesterday there were already more than 1,500 animals claimed by hunters. Black bear season is currently in the second week of archery, and then rifle hunting begins on November 23rd.
