News Live 365: Election Day, November 5th, 2019

Today is the first Tuesday of November which makes it Election Day. 2019’s elections are what are known as off year elections which take place between presidential and midterm elections and most of the voting will be for local and county level offices.
If you are voting at a new polling location for the first time in the state of Pennsylvania you must provide some form of identification, such as a photographic ID issued by the commonwealth or federal government like a current Pennsylvania driver’s license, student ID, passport, or military ID. Pennsylvania Residents may also provide their voter registration card, utility bills with their address, or a recent paycheck or bank statement. More information can be found at VotesPA.com.
In Ohio all voters must provide identification proving their residency in the state. Ohio accepts similar ID to Pennsylvania with the exception of Student ID. Those without ID are allowed to cast a provisional ballot in both states. More information can be found on the Ohio Secretary of State’s website.
Polls are open for 13 hours from 7AM to 8PM in Pennsylvania and 6:30AM to 7:30PM in Ohio. News Live will report on the results of select elections in Crawford and Venango counties later this week.
