Riot at Psych Facility

A 14 year old girl was arrested and two women were injured after what state police described as a riot at the Clarion Psychiatric Center. At about 2:15 Saturday afternoon 12 juvenile patients attacked staff by throwing objects and punching them with their fists. State troopers arrested a 14 year old girl and turned her over to Juvenile Probation; she faces assault and related charges.


Burned Car Stolen in Ohio

A vehicle found burning near the intersection of Philadelphia Road and Reeds Corners Road in Beaver Township, Crawford County on October 10th has been connected with a crime in Archbold Ohio. Anyone who might have information on the car should call the Pennsylvania State Police in Meadville at (814)332-6911.


PA Takes Steps Toward Transparency

Pennsylvania’s Department of State has just published online guides for individuals seeking a license for their profession in the state. Acting Secretary of State Kathy Brookvar said the guides are part of an attempt at creating more transparency. Guides for cosmetology, nursing and osteopathic medicine licenses are now available on the Department of State’s website, with guides for engineering, medical doctors and real estate sales licenses in the works and others to follow.
