Gas Leak Causes Major Evacuation in Venango County

Authorities in Venango County issued an evacuation order for everyone within a five mile radius of a burst gas pipeline in Cornplanter Township on Saturday. At about 3:45 in the morning the operator of a Utility Terrain Vehicle collided with the gas line near Route 8 and Harper Road which caused it to break.


Man Steals $6,000 in Smartphones from Employer

Justin Dover of Meadville was arrested on Sunday for retail theft after allegedly stealing several cellular phones from his employer. Dover worked as an employee at a retail outlet and is accused of smuggling seven brand new smartphones collectively worth more than $6,000 during the month of September.

Wanted: James Franklin

James Franklin of Oil City is wanted by the Pennsylvania State Police after threatening assault against against a woman in the town of Reno. The 26 year old has multiple warrants for his arrest regarding parole violations, unpaid child support, and domestic violence. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of James Franklin is asked to call the Pennsylvania State Police at (814)676-6596.


Pickup Hits Cow in Clarion County

A Clarion County man barely avoided injury after a collision with a cow in Madison Township. Police report that just before midnight on Thursday, October 3rd, Justin Finland of Sligo stuck a cow head on as it was crossing State Route 861.


Shapiro Objects to Purdue Executive Bonuses

Pennsylvania’s Attorney General has filed a legal objection to Purdue Pharma’s attempt to pay billions of dollars in bonuses to its executives. Last Thursday Josh Shapiro filed the joinder against the bonus payments after the company declared bankruptcy when it lost a major lawsuit in regard to its role in the opioid epidemic.
