Free Naloxone Day

Today is the second free Naloxone day in September. Naloxone, also known as its trade name Narcan, is a life saving drug that can stop an overdose by reversing the effects of opioids on a patient.  The drug will be given to all who ask from 9AM to 3PM at every State Health Center in Pennsylvania while supplies last. 4,000 naloxone kits were given out last week and Secretary of Health Rachel Lavine hopes more people will take advantage of it this week. Locally Naloxone can be acquired at State Health Centers in Erie, Meadville, New Castle, Seneca, Clarion, Mercer, Warren, and Tionesta.
