Man Stabs Woman With Fork

A Meadville man named William Hoover III is being charged with assault with a weapon and other crimes after allegedly stabbing a woman with a fork. The 38 year old Hoover and his 59 year old ex-girlfriend were said to be in an argument when its alleged that he stabbed her in the left shoulder with the implement. Hoover posted bail and is awaiting a preliminary hearing.


Wanted: Stephanie King

20 year old Stephanie King of Franklin is wanted by the Pennsylvania State Police for over $1,000 in retail theft from a store in Cranberry after an incident on Friday September 6th. King allegedly fled from the retailer’s loss prevention team with about $1,056 worth of merchandise. Anyone with information about the whereabouts of Stephanie King is asked to call the Franklin State Police at (814)676-6596.


Trio of Lyme Disease Bills in PA House

Pennsylvania’s House of Representatives will soon be reviewing three separate bills related to tick borne illnesses like Lyme disease. Bills include 2 hours of mandatory yearly training for doctors, procedures for schools to handle students with ticks, and requiring health insurers to cover all Lyme disease treatment regimens. The first of these bills is House Bill 94 which would require school nurses to remove any ticks discovered on a student and contact their parents, House Bill 96 would require doctors to have a mandatory 2 hours of training about tick borne illnesses every year, and House Bill 629 which would require insurance companies to cover all treatment plans for Lyme and other tick borne illnesses.
