Jack Elijah Turner Extradited to PA

Jack Turner is now in the custody of Pennsylvania after extradition from Charleston West Virginia. He has been remitted to Crawford County Jail and is still a person of interest in the slaying of Shannon Whitman and her 10 year old son but an investigation into the killing is still underway. Turner has been officially charged with the theft of an automobile and the robbery of a convenience store.


DUI Task Forces Active for Labor Day

From Chief Tad Acker of the Cambridge Springs Police Department, County DUI task forces will be out and about this Labor Day Weekend to patrol and set up checkpoints for under the influence drivers. While Chief Acker and his comrades would love for you to enjoy your weekend he also reminds you to exercise sound judgement and do not let anyone drive under the influence.


PA Attorney General Inquires About Student Loan Forgiveness

Pennsylvania’s Attorney General Josh Shapiro has joined 11 other Attorney’s General in inquiring why only 1% of eligible individuals are receiving student loan forgiveness. In a letter sent directly to Education Secretary Betsy Devos on Wednesday the coalition asked why only 1,300 of 88,000 teachers, police officers, firefighters, and other public servants have had their applications processed and what states can do to help.

A suspect described as a black male took a firearm from a vehicle in the parking lot of a pharmacy on Buffalo Road in Erie at around noon on Thursday August 15th. Call the Erie State Police at (814)898-1641 if you have information.
On Monday August 12th a Union City man reported the theft of a Kimber Micro 9 stolen from their home on Route 6. The pistol is grey in color with a rosewood grip and was accessorized with night sights and a built in laser aim assist. If you have information call the Corry State Police at (814)663-2043.
On Sunday August 25th or Monday the 26th automotive and tractor parts were taken from a home on South Townline Road in Linesville. They include a car battery and battery, carburetor, and starter for a tractor. Call (814)332-6911 if you can help.
