For many school districts in the area today is the first official day of school. Motorists, remember that ignoring the signals from a school bus can earn you a fine, a 60 day suspension of driver’s licenses, and five points on your record. All vehicles must stop within 10 feet of a school bus when it has its red lights flashing and stop arm extended, the only exception to this law is if there is a physical median such as a concrete barrier between you and the bus.
