Waterford Man Arrested for Rape

David Gehrlein of Waterford is being charged with multiple crimes after his arrest on Sunday. It’s alleged the Gehrlein kept a 41 year old woman locked in a home in Erie County’s Summit Township and forced her participation in multiple sex acts from Tuesday August 20th to Saturday August 24th. Charges include strangulation, deviate sexual intercourse, unlawful restraint, simple assault, and rape.

 

Tennessee Man Held in Clarion on Assault Charges

Adam Kriner of Bristol Tennessee was sent to Clarion County Jail on $10,000 straight bail for assault. Authorities and witnesses relate that he punched a Dubois man in the face and the victim struck his head on a concrete sidewalk so hard he had to be put in a medically induced coma to save his life. About 20 minutes earlier Kriner had had his hair singed by the victim as part of a prank.

Titusville Standoff Ends in Arrest

A Titusville man was arrested after a brief Monday morning stand-off with TPD. Jeffrey Schoch faces felony charges of aggravated assault and strangulation, plus related misdemeanors after allegedly attacking his girlfriend and then barricading himself inside her home. Titusville Police Officers had to force their way into the home at about 2:30AM and then into a bedroom to capture Schoch who was pretending to be armed with a weapon to hold officers at bay.

 

Police Search for Tractor Trailer that hit Cyclist

In Warren County authorities are looking for a tractor trailer that struck a cyclist just before 9PM last night. 24 year old Robert Hill was traveling east along State Route 6 in Columbus Township, Warren County when he was hit by the vehicle which was also traveling eastward and then left the scene. Grand Jury: No Charges Against Ellis

A Grand Jury has recommended no criminal charges be filed against former State Representative Brian Ellis of Butler County. He was accused of sexually assaulting a woman outside of a bar in Harrisburg in 2015.

 

No Parent of the Year Award

Each member of an unidentified Cambridge Springs couple faces charges of child endangerment and other crimes after a DUI related crash in Crawford County. On State Route 77 at 6AM Saturday morning State Police Troopers responded to a crash scene in Athens Township. It wasn’t long before they determined the driver, a 32 year old man, was under the influence of drugs and alcohol which caused the crash. A 28 year old woman who was also in the crashed vehicle began to fight with police, not allowing the vehicle to be towed, and using her two year old child as a shield to prevent police from removing her from the crash. The man is charged with DUI, endangering the welfare of children, and summary traffic violations. The Woman is charged with endangering the welfare of children, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, and obstructing the administration of law.

 

State News: Fentanyl Exposure Nearly Kills Police Officer

A Harrisburg Police officer was nearly killed by an overdose of fentanyl after merely handling a package holding the drug. According to the Police Commissioner, Thomas Carter, the unidentified officer was retrieving a package of drugs and money tossed from a vehicle during a pursuit when he collapsed and had to be revived with two doses of narcan.
