Falling Utility Pole Kills Cambridge Man

A Cambridge Springs man was killed during Sunday night’s storm. 47 year old Aaron Schultz was killed when a utility pole fell on him after an unfortunate and unlikely scenario at the intersection of State Route 98 and Center Road in Crawford County. Mr. Schultz was checking on a Conneaut Ohio man named Jacob Plough after he collided with and damaged a utility pole due to the rain. A passing tractor trailer caught low hanging wires which pulled the utility pole straight on top of Mr. Schultz causing fatal injury.


Shapiro Announces Charges in Human Trafficking Arrest

A Florida businessman has been arrested and charged with operating a human trafficking ring in Pennsylvania. Attorney General Josh Shapiro announced on Friday that David Williams of Pensacola Florida is being charged with state and federal crimes including racketeering, money laundering, and harboring illegal aliens for financial gain. Williams is the owner of massage parlors located in Turtle Creek, Carnegie, Jeannette, Bridgeville, Erie, and McKees Rocks, where immigrants offered sexual favors to customers.


Man Arrested After Threatening Woman with Gun

A 34 year old Emlenton Man faces charges of simple assault, reckless endangerment, and disorderly conduct after allegedly threatening a woman with a gun during a drunken argument. Neither the suspect nor victim have been named in the police report but State Police say that the woman ran from the house and hid inside her car and claims he fired at least twice. The man called 911 and threatened to kill himself but surrendered to police peacefully.

Crawford County Planning Office to Hold Meetings on Urban and Rural Blight

The Crawford County Planning Office plans to hold two public meetings next week to present their plan to improve blighted housing locations throughout the county. The meetings will be held in a casual “front porch forum” style where anyone may come learn about the plan and the housing issues facing the county. The first meeting will be held at Titusville’s Benson Memorial Library on Wednesday, August 28th and a second on Thursday, August 29th at the Crawford County Public Safety Building in Meadville. Both are scheduled to begin at 6PM and end around 7:30PM
