Man Struck by Car Outside Meadville

A Meadville man was airlifted from Meadville Medical Center to a facility in Erie after being hit by a car on Route 19 in Vernon Township Crawford County. Investigators on the scene say that Chase Snyder was walking and running across five lanes of traffic at around 10PM last night when he was struck by a motorist who couldn’t even see him coming.

 

74th Annual Crawford County Fair

It’s called the largest agricultural fair east of the Mississippi River and it starts tomorrow. The 74th annual Crawford County officially opens with the coronation of the fair queen at 11AM but gates will be open earlier with exhibitions starting as early as 10AM. Opening day features antique and modern truck and tractor pulls, professional wrestling, baked goods auction, and more. Entrance to the fair is only $5 this year.

 

Philly PD Praised for Peaceful ending to Weekend Standoff

A man named Maurice Hill was arrested by Philadelphia police late Wednesday night after finally surrendering to them at the end of an hours long standoff that saw six officers receive minor injuries. On Thursday Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf and US Senator Bob Casey praised the city’s police for a peaceful resolution to the situation.

 

Police Seek Witnesses in Open Investigations

State Police form Corry are investigating  the burglary of a home belonging to a couple in their late fifties on Route 77 in Crawford County’s Sparta Township. Sometime between Thursday August 8th and Sunday August 11th one or more people vandalized the front door to steal cash and jewelry inside the home.

Between Monday August 5th and Friday August 9th a .22 caliber rifle, some BB guns, airsoft rifles, and fireworks were stolen from a campsite on Stony Run Road in Warren County. If you have information about either of these two burglaries please call the Corry State Police at (814)663-2043.
