Tonight is National Night Out

The first Tuesday in August is National Night Out. National Night Out is designed to heighten crime and drug prevention awareness, generate support for local anticrime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back. Edinboro is hosting its first ever National Night Out events tonight and events in our area are also taking place in Cambridge Springs, Conneautville, Erie, Knox, Linesville, Union City, and others. There are a total of 248 National Night Out Events in Pennsylvania this year.

A vigilant employee at a retail superstore may have stopped a mass shooting attack on Temple University. 29 year old Patrick Buhler was arrested and has been charged with Terroristic Threats and Harassment after an employee at a Bucks County retail store called police to report his behavior. Buhler had been asking customers and employees about Temple University and claiming he would be in the news soon as he bought knives and ammunition. Police found Buhler in possession of hundreds of rounds of ammunition purchased at various stores and several knives.
