Woman Injures Head in Motorcycle Collission

A two motorcycle collision in Clarion County hospitalized a Brookville woman. Crash scene investigators say that 50 year old Wilda Grantz was not wearing a helmet and suffered serious head wounds when her bike collided with one operated by Douglas Dunkle of Clarion while they were riding along Brookville Street in the town of Hawthorne.


Nifty 60 Expo This Friday

Representative Donna Oberlander is hosting another Nifty Sixty Expo for senior citizens at the Clarion Mall. From 10AM until Noon on Friday August 2nd over 50 presenters including government agencies and nonprofits will be on hand to provide information about services benefiting seniors 60 years of age and older. The proceedings include a free lunch at noon.


2020 Census not Just for Govt

Next year is a census year and authorities are stressing the importance of answering census questions as accurately and completely as possible. Jose Figueroa from the Philadelphia Regional Census Center stresses that not only is the information used by government agencies but also faith based, volunteer, and community organizations rely on accurate census data for their work as well.


Woman Uses Glass Jar as Weapon in Assault

A Crawford County woman is charged with crimes related to domestic assault after throwing glass jars at the man reported to be her boyfriend. Authorities say 47 year old Renee Gearheart used mason jars as missiles to hurl at her victim, causing lacerations to the side of his face.


Man Charged in June Traffic Incident

The Sugarcreek Police Department has filed several criminal charges against 42 year old Lon Wilkens of Franklin for a threatening driving incident. Authorities report that back in the month of June Wilkens was threatening another driver and a 5 year old child by pushing on their rear bumper with his vehicle. They say he followed his victim through town, revving his engine, and swerving back and forth aggressively.
