Man Could Be Charged For DUI After Crash

Travis Thurber of Hartstown may be facing charges of DUI after crashing his car on Friday July 19th. Thurber is suspected by state troopers of having been under the influence of a controlled substance when he rolled his vehicle while traveling along Guys Mills Road in Randolph Township, Crawford County. An investigation is ongoing while authorities await the results of a toxicology screening.


Officials to Check for Dog Licenses

From the office of Venango County Treasurer Deborah H. Sharpe, Dog Law Officers from the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture will be using the month of August to canvass areas and check for dog license compliance. The fine for having an unlicensed canine can go up to $300, but you can buy or renew a dog license at your County Treasurer’s office for $6.50 for a spayed or neutered pet and $8.50 for an intact pet, seniors and individuals with a qualifying disability get a discount of $2.00.


Captive Bear Attacks Woman

A woman working at a resort in Fayette County was injured after being attacked by a bear inside its enclosure. The woman is an employee at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort and was bitten on her arm by a Himalayan Bear that reached through a fence to attack her on Saturday.
