Franklin Teen Dies after Crash

Authorities in Venango County report that a 19 year old man involved in a July 5th car accident succumbed to his injuries and died at a Hospital in Erie. Matthew Clayton of Franklin was not wearing his seatbelt when his vehicle collided with a house alongside Pone Road in Sandycreek Township just before 1AM.


Hot Cars Kill Children

In the height of summer The American Trauma Society Pennsylvania Division wishes to remind you that cars and trucks heat up quickly and children do not regulate their body heat the same way as adults. The society, as well as the medical community, and others, recommend that parents never leave their children unattended in hot cars. You also should always lock your vehicle when at home to prevent children from accidentally getting trapped inside.


PA Governor Signs School Security Bill

Pennsylvania’s Governor Tom Wolf recently signed Act 67, which spells out specific requirements for school districts who wish to include armed security. Act 67 also allows Sheriffs and their Deputies to serve as school resource officers and specifies that teachers are not allowed to carry firearms as part of school security programs.
