Deadly Crash Crawford County Kills or Injures Whole Family

State Police are still investigating the scene of a gruesome Sunday afternoon crash on Interstate 79 in Crawford County that killed two and injured three. It was around 4:15 in the afternoon, when a family from Rochester New York was traveling north on the interstate in Hayfield Township when their SUV swerved off the side of the roadway and then corrected course hard enough to cause it to roll over. As it rolled three passengers were ejected from the vehicle, two of them were declared dead while the rest of the family was transported to UPMC Hamot in Erie.

 

Sparta Man Charged with Indecent Assault

Jeremiah Morton of Sparta Township, Crawford County, was arrested by State Police from Corry last week and charged with Aggravated Indecent Assault for alleged sexual contact with a minor. He’s currently being held in jail on $50,000 bond.

Victim Unsure when Guns Stolen

State Police in Corry are investigating the theft of two firearms with a unique problem in that it could have taken place any time within the last 8 months. Two handguns were taken from the home of a 70 year old Union City man sometime between November of last year and June of this year. The weapons are a .22 caliber semi-automatic Kel-Tec handgun and a stainless steel .44 caliber Colt Anaconda revolver. If you have information call (814)663-2043.

 

Clean Slate Stage 2 in PA

The second stage of Pennsylvania’s clean slate law begins this month. Stage 2 will see the automatic sealing of criminal records for people charged with but not convicted of misdemeanors and people convicted of nonviolent misdemeanors if they remained crime free for at least 10 years. About 2.5 million Pennsylvania residents are expected to benefit this month and 30 million by this time next year.
