Man, 54, Assaults Woman, 53, With Wooden Board

An unnamed 54 year old Cranberry man was arrested Friday the 21st after allegedly assaulting a woman with a wooden board and causing major injury. He remains in Clarion County Jail after being arraigned on charges related to assault with a weapon.


Local Bills and State Budget Advance in State Government

A pair of bills authored by local State Representatives have been advanced by the legislature. Brad Roae’s House Bill 751 to enact several changes to state law involving the Public Utility Commission and water and sewer utilities is headed for Governor Tom Wolf after passage in the Senate. Parke Wentling’s House Bill 1188 which would allow the use of night vision technology to hunt coyotes and other nocturnal predators has been sent up to the State Senate after passage in the House. Also in the state legislature; Pennsylvania’s House Finance Committee has approved a budget for the 2019-2020 fiscal year. A house vote on the proposed budget is expected this week.


After Two Years, Authorities Still Searching for Missing Man

It’s been two years, but authorities in Venango County have not given up their search for a missing Seneca man. William J. Ward is now 33 years old and has been missing since the 28th of June 2017. William was last seen walking east on Route 408 near Steadman road in Troy Township, Venango County toward Hydetown. He is a white male, about 5’10 inches tall, 160 pounds with brown hair and eyes, and two tattoos including a green and blue tribal tattoo on his right bicep and the date 7.3.14 on his left wrist. At the time of his disappearance William was wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans, and a camouflage backpack.
