Police Step Up Enforcement for Memorial Holiday

Chief Tad Acker of the Cambridge Springs Police Department reminds everyone on behalf of the Crawford County DUI Task force that authorities will be stepping up their efforts at traffic enforcement for Memorial Day Weekend. Throughout the county and the commonwealth local and state police forces will be setting up DUI checkpoints and increasing the frequency of highway patrols for your protection. Please wear your seatbelts when traveling and don’t drink and drive; have a safe and happy holiday.

 

AAA Travel Tips for Memorial Weekend

AAA has offered some travel tips for people who will be hitting the road for Memorial Day and the unofficial start of the summer. Millions of Pennsylvanians will be traveling across and out of the State this weekend and AAA recommends starting your trip in the morning or evening to avoid peak traffic. They also note that gas prices in Pennsylvania hover around $3 per gallon which is 33 cents cheaper than this time last year. Locally, gas is a few cents more expensive than average and cheapest in Crawford and Lawrence County. Prices are highest in Venango County.

 

Fish for Free Day is Sunday May 26th

This Sunday is Fish for Free Day in Pennsylvania. Fish for Free Days only come a few times per year and during them adults and children can fish in any of Pennsylvania’s water ways without a license from sunrise until sunset. Legal catching limits still apply.
