Titusville Man Arrested for Assaulting Woman

Tyler Lindsley of Titusville has been charged with Simple Assault and Harassment after allegedly turning violent during an argument on April Fool’s Day. According to authorities Lindsley is accused for forcing a female victim to the ground, pulling her hair, and bouncing her head against a staircase several times. It’s also alleged he kicked and headbutted her.

 

Bill to Allow Ballot by Mail in PA Elections

While many Pennsylvania Counties struggle with acquiring voting machines that meet security standards State Representative Bob Matzie offers a simple sounding solution; use the post office. Matzie has introduced a new bill that would allow casting ballots through the mail by request and based his proposal off of successful models used in 22 other states. Three states now hold their elections entirely through the mail which Matzie says has decreased fraud, improved participation, and lowered costs. Matzie’s proposal would give residents the option of applying for mail in ballots that would be sent every year at election time.

 

Department of Health Warns About Ticks.

With the weather getting warmer Pennsylvania Secretary of Health Rachel Levine wants to remind residents to protect against tick borne Lyme Disease this year. The best ways to prevent ticks are by covering exposed skin or using an insect repellent containing DEET. It’s also recommended that you self check for ticks on your body once coming in from a prolonged time outdoors. There were more than 10,000 new cases of Lyme in 2017.
