USPS Carrier Involved in Crash

No injuries were reported in a car crash involving a postal service delivery worker in Crawford County’s Greenwood Township. According to investigators the crash happened when the mail carrier was trying to reenter State Highway 285 after a delivery and failed to notice an oncoming vehicle.

 

Ex Penn State President Seeks New Criminal Appeal

Former President of Penn State University Graham Spanier has filed another appeal against his 2017 Child Endangerment Conviction. His lawyers claim his conviction was based on laws that did not exist during the time of crimes. Spanier was president of the university in 2001 when assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky was actively molesting children in the locker rooms and failed to act on reports of his activities.

 

Woman Charged After Crash

28 year old Rebecca Waddell of Union City was hospitalized with non life threatening injuries Friday afternoon after a crash in Wayne Township, Erie County. Investigators say she was distracted and failed to notice another vehicle turning into a parking lot on Route 6, she swerved but was too late to avoid a collision. She has been charged with careless driving.

 

Witnesses Sought in Cow Shooting

State Police are looking for witnesses in an animal cruelty case in Crawford County. According to authorities someone shot and wounded a beef cow in a pasture off of Fox Road in Venango Township. If you have information that could assist the investigation call (814)332-6911.

 

Lawmakers Seek to Remove Vaccine Exemptions

In Pennsylvania children must have certain vaccinations to attend public schools, but their parents can under certain circumstances make a religious or philosophical objection. Outbreaks of preventable diseases around the country have prompted a new bill in the State Senate that seeks to change the rules to allow only exemptions for students who are medically unable to be vaccinated.
