Pittsburgh Man Arrested for Tormenting and Strangling Meadville Woman

39 year old Jason Costelnik of Pittsburgh was arrested by State Troopers after allegedly holding a Meadville woman hostage in her own home, tormenting, and attempting to strangle her. It’s said that Costelnik forced his victim to play Russian Roulette and then struck her on the head with that same firearm before dragging her to a bed to strangle her. She managed to escape and call police.


Trucker Flips Truck Near Shippenville

A 62 year old trucker was taken to Clarion Hospital after rolling his semi tractor while traveling through Clarion County. Howard Ferrenberg struck a curb while driving through Marianne and his vehicle flipped into the southbound lane striking two other vehicles whose occupants were uninjured.


Jury Finds Cop Not Guilty in Death of Teen

In State News East Pittsburgh Police Officer Michael Rosfeld was found not guilty of homicide by a jury. While on duty Rosfeld fatally shot 17 year old Antoine Rose Junior in the back as he fled from a traffic stop last year.


Former Top Attorney Disbarred

Former Pennsylvania Attorney General Kathleen Kane has been formally disbarred by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court. Kane is currently serving a 10 to 23 month prison sentence after being convicted of crimes related to lying under oath about using confidential grand jury information to attack political opponents. Her disbarment is official as of April 21st.


Prostitution/Trafficking Ring Busted

Four ringleaders were arrested during the breakup of a prostitution and human trafficking ring operating in Western Pennsylvania. Hui Xu , Huicun Wei, Chang Yu Chen, and Robert Yerick ran multiple massage parlors in Allegheny and Westmoreland Counties where customers could pay extra for sexual favors. Most of the women working in the parlors were brought here from from China and only speak Mandarin.


Court Allows Fracking Lawsuit to Proceed

Pennsylvania’s Commonwealth Court is allowing a lawsuit over gas royalties to continue. Chesapeake Energy and Anadarko Petroleum are being sued by rural landowners in the Northeast of the State who allege they have not made good on promised royalty fees.
