New Castle City Police report a bullet was found on the floor of a New Castle Area School Bus that was carrying 13 students on the commute home from George Washington Intermediate School on Tuesday .According to the department’s facebook page, police said following their investigation it was determined that there is no evidence of any weapon on the bus or in the school, and there is no credible threat. The investigation is continuing.

New Castle firefighters are working to find the cause of a blaze that leveled a vacant home.  The fire broke out early yesterday morning on Wabash Avenue, burning hot enough to be felt by residents across the street.  No injuries were reported.

State Police in Lawrence County are investigation a crash yesterday afternoon in Hickory Township. The accident took place on State Road and Eastbrook-Volant Road around 1:45 when a truck allegedly hit another car. Emergency crews had to use the “Jaws of Life” to get the roof off of the car. The driver was flown to a Youngstown hospital. There no word on if anyone will be charged.

Two women are accused of holding a third against her will for four days in Ambridge.  Dana Dais and Shaneen Zalewski reportedly kept the victim in an apartment on the 500-block of Merchant Street from last Friday to this Tuesday, threating to beat her if she left.  The victim also said she was sexually assaulted by the suspects.  Dais and Zalewski are in Beaver County Jail after failing to post bail.

A jury from Dauphin County is headed to Pittsburgh next week to hear the case against a former police officer accused of shooting and killing an unarmed teen.  The 12 member jury along with four alternates were chosen in the case against Michael Rosfeld, who is charged for shooting 17-year-old Antwon Rose as he ran from a traffic stop last year.  The jury will be sequestered.

A Boyers woman was killed in a two vehicle accident in Armstrong County. According to State Police 19-year-old Billie Paige Edwards of Boyers was traveling on North Riverview Drive between in Hovey Township, Armstrong County just after 7 a.m. Tuesday when she lost control due to ice on the road. She struck the rear axles of a tractor trailor. Edwards was transported to Grove City Medical Center but was pronounced dead upon arrival.

A state House committee is moving a bill forward to the chamber empowering good Samaritans who are trying to save kids from hot cars.  The measure would protect anyone who has to force their way into a car to rescue a child from any liability for the damage caused.  The person must have to first make a reasonable attempt to locate the driver and contact police or firefighters.

Officials with the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources are warning of an increased wildfire risk over the next few months.  Representatives with D-C-N-R say 85-percent of Pennsylvania’s wildfires happen between March and May.  They say many here burn carelessly without paying attention to how dry or windy it may be.

An investigation is underway into a deadly police shooting in Greensburg.  Police say it started yesterday afternoon when a woman opened fire on a car near her Grant Street home.  It ended with an officer shooting the woman when she refused to drop her gun.  The woman has not yet been identified.
