Flooding Closes More Roads

More roads in the region are closed by PennDOT due to flooding. In Erie County Pleasant Street (SR 2018) from Main Street in Elgin to Spartansburg Road in Concord Township is closed due to flooding. French Creek Road (SR2001)is closed from Grand Army of the Republic Highway to Flatt Road in LeBoeuf Township. Three roads are flooded in Crawford County. Sparta Street in Centerville is closed (SR 1041) from Garland Street to White Road. Authorities have closed Mackey Hill Road (SR 1016) from Route 6 in Cambridge Springs to Miller Hill Road in Rockdale, and Route 173 from Lake Creek Road to Richie Road in Wayne Township. In Forest County’s Green Township Nebraska Road(SR 3004) from German Hill Road to Sage Road is closed. In Mercer County authorities have closed Methodist Road (SR 4019) from Salem Road to Kennard Road in Sugar Grove Township and Springfield Church Road (SR 2007) from Elliot Road in Findley Township to Irishtown Road Pine Township. And finally in Warren County: Kane Road (SR 3014) from Route 27 to Cole Hill Road in Pittsfield Township is closed.

Man Wanted for Rape in Clarion County Caught in Florida

Clarion’s State Police Detachment has announced the arrest of a wanted area fugitive by authorities in Florida. Garrick Bloom is wanted in Pennsylvania for suspicion of rape, the Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force and US Marshals tracked Bloom to a homeless shelter in Tallahassee Florida where he was arrested for extradition on Thursday.


Kindergarten Registration in Conneaut School District

Conneaut School District has announced the dates and times for kindergarten registration at each of the district’s elementary schools. Wednesday March 13th is open registration for Conneaut Valley Elementary and Conneaut Lake Elementary is on Thursday the 14th. Times on both dates are 8AM to 2:30PM and then 5PM to 7PM and children must be 5 years old no later than August 1st this year and meet certain vaccination requirements to qualify.


PA Attorney General Files Legal Action Against UPMC

Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro is filing legal action against The UPMC hospital system. UPMC is being accused of violating a 2014 consent decree with health insurer Highmark by limiting Highmark customers’ access to its doctors and hospitals, and as a result, Shapiro is asking Commonwealth Court to revisit the agreement.
