Saegertown Man in Possession of Stolen Truck Arrested

38 year old Justin Rivers of Saegertown has been arrested and charged with receiving stolen property and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle by state police troopers. River’s was allegedly in possession of a Ford F-350 that had been stolen in Crawford County’s Vernon Township when troopers were responding to an unrelated call about him.


Teens from Group Home Crash Car

Three teenagers from Bethesda Lutheran Services in Crawford County face charges of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. When authorities responded to a crash at around 2AM Sunday morning it was found to be the three unsupervised teens in a vehicle belonging to the home.


PSU Shooting Investigation Continues

An investigation is still underway in a series of shootings near Penn State University on Thursday. 21 year old Jordan Witmer of Bellefonte traveled to multiple locations and shot four people including an ex-girlfriend before turning the gun on himself. So far only one survivor remains and they are in critical condition.


Mercer County Road Still Closed Due to Floods

On Friday I had a list of roads closed by PennDOT due to flooding. Most of those roads across the region have been reopened but as of 5AM this morning Methodist Road remains closed in Mercer County (SR 4019) from Salem Road to Beatty School Road in Sugar Grove Township.


Franklin State Police Announce March DUI Stings

Authorities in Venango County have announced that State Troopers will be conducting DUI Sobriety checkpoints around the County in the Month of March.


Two State Lawmakers Investigated for Sexual Impropriety

Two State Lawmakers have been called on to step down after allegations of sexual impropriety. Brian Ellis of Butler County has been stripped by House Republicans of his committee chairmanship and told to step down by both his party and the governor after allegations he had relations with an incapacitated woman in his home near the capital about 4 years ago. Governor Tom Wolf has called for democratic State Senator Daylin Leach to step down after Senate Democrats began to investigate an incident from the 1990’s.
