Floods Close Several Local Roads
This week’s snow melt followed by rain has lead to the closure of several roads around the region due to flooding. The following roads are affected:
In Crawford County floods have closed Route 173 from Richie Road to Lake Creek Road in Wayne Township. They have also closed Mystic Park Road (SR 1011) from Stroup Road to Dutch Street in Steuben Township and Route 1041)from Garland Street to White Road in Centerville. In Erie County Route 2018 from Main Street in Elgin to Spartansburg Road in Concord Township is closed. Forest County’s stretch of Route 3004 from German Hill Road to Sage Road in Green Township is closed due to flooding. Floods have closed Methodist Road in Mercer County (SR 4019) from Salem Road to Beatty School Road in Sugar Grove Township. And finally, in Warren County Route 4001 between Route 426 and Route 6 in Columbus Township.
Semi Collides with Snow Plow
Fortunately there were no injuries when a plow truck collided with a pickup in Crawford County Thursday Afternoon. On Macky Hill Road in Rockdale Township the plow lost its traction and slid sideways down a hill, the pickup was unable to stop on time and slid into the plow.
Edinboro University Awarded for Military Friendliness
Edinboro University earned it’s 10th consecutive endorsement as a military friendly school by the Viqtory Organization. Edinboro earned silver status this year in recognition of its education of military students and its ability to help them find meaningful employment after graduation. Edinboro earned the highest rating of any secondary school in Erie County.
PA Property Tax Rebate Applications Available
Senior Citizens and people with qualifying disabilities can now apply for Pennsylvania’s Property Tax and Rent Rebate Program. The size of the rebate is linked to the amount you paid in property taxes or rent in 2018 and can be as high as $650.
