Clarion River Selected as River of the Year

The Clarion River here in Northwest Pennsylvania has been declared the 2019 Pennsylvania River of the Year. The Clarion River was picked over the Delaware, and Lackawanna rivers, and Conodoquinet Creek. The award comes with a $10,000 grant to the Northwest Pennsylvania Conservancy to help plan celebratory events.

In observation of Dr. Martin Luther King Junior Day, PennDOT has announced the closing all of Driver’s License Photo Centers on Saturday January 19th and Monday January 21st. You can still access most Photo Center services online at www.dmv.pa.gov.
Employees Arrested for Stealing from Own Nonprofit

41 employees of a nonprofit organization in Delaware County have been arrested for stealing around $1 million from its coffers. Four supervisors for the Elwyn Organization allegedly took kickbacks from more than 30 employees in exchange for altering pay sheets to indicate they worked overtime so they could collect extra pay.
