Storm Warning in Crawford and Erie County’s
PennDOT and the National Weather Service
The weather is the news today as the National Weather Service has issued a storm warning for Crawford and Erie Counties until 6PM Thursday afternoon. As many as 17 inches of snow could fall and strong winds reaching speeds as high as 35 miles per hour can cause blizzard and white-out conditions. PennDOT has issued travel restrictions until midnight tonight on some interstate highways ahead of the expected storm. The speed limits on Interstates 86 and 90 have been restricted to 45 miles per hour and a travel ban is in place for double trailers, empty trailers, non-commercial vehicles pulling trailers, recreational vehicles, and motorcycles.
Health Secretary Urges People to get Flu Jab
Pennsylvania’s Secretary of Health Rachel Levine is urging anyone who has not been vaccinated against the flu to get a shot as soon as possible. Eight Pennsylvanian’s have already been killed by influenza this year and in the last two weeks alone more than 2,000 cases have been confirmed in hospitals around the state.
